Company Choreographers
saraSara Miot, the Company Choreographer for the Ulster County Ballet, began her dance career in New York City where she danced for several years with the New York City Ballet.  Over the years Sara has choreographed a number of dance pieces for the Ulster Ballet Company, including Caravan and Nocturnes.  However, her major choreographic effort for the Ulster Ballet is A Christmas Carol, which had its first showing in 1995 and continues to grow each year.

hollyHolly Gross, is a former gymnast who has not only danced many of the Company's major roles in both "A Christmas Carol" and the Spring Festival of Dance, but has also choreographed and performed several of her own pieces in the annual summer Choreography On The Edge.  Holly has appeared in a number of roles in "A Christmas Carol", including "Greed" and as the "Spirit of Christmas Past".


Company Members
queidoQuiedo Carbone, has been an active member of the Ulster Ballet since 1983 and became Co-Artistic Director in 1986.  Quiedo began studying dance as a teen at the age of 15 continuing through high school.  Pursuing his passion for the art, he has danced many of the Company's leading roles, including the Ghost of Christmas Present in "A Christmas Carol". He also teaches classes at the Saugerties Ballet Center.

scarletAubrey Contini, has been dancing with the Ulster Ballet Company since 2004 in roles such as sprites, freds party, musician, and ghost of christmas future. After completing the performing arts program at suny dutchess, she went on to dance with Tina Tompson's SKIN dance company out of Harlem NY and has returned this past year to dance the roll of greed. She is thrilled to be back home and dancing with UBC again.

scarletAnne David, has been dancing with the Ulster Ballet Company on and off since 1992. She has performed the rolls of Fred’s Party Guest and most notably as Belle and The Ghost of Christmas Yet to Be. Having trained with many fabulous teachers Anne has been dancing for 40 years. She has also been seen on stage acting doing Community Theater with Creative Theater Muddy Waters Players. Currently, Anne teaches English as a Second Language in addition to performing with the Ulster Ballet Company in “A Christmas Carol” and the Festival of Dance.

scarletSarah Dernison, is a music teacher in the Kingston City School District. She began her dance training at the age of 4 and began ballet with the Saugerties Ballet Center at 12. She also spent four summers training in Saratoga Springs, NY the summer home of the New York City Ballet. She has performed with the Ulster Ballet Company on and off for the past 16 years. While a student she performed the roles of Musician, Sprite and Fred’s Party Guest in A Christmas Carol. Since returning to the stage as an adult she can be seen performing the role of Mrs. Fred, occasionally in the spring Festival of Dance and helping to run rehearsals and assist the choreographer behind the scenes.

scarletScarlett Fiero, is the Co-Artistic Director of the Ulster Ballet Company and the Director of the Saugerties Ballet Center, the official school of the Ulster Ballet Company. She has danced with the Company since 1985. Before joining the Ulster Ballet Company Scarlett performed professionally with companies in New York and New Jersey including BalletWorks and The Garden State Ballet.

scarletBob Gomez, has been an active member of the Ulster Ballet Company for 17 years serving on the board of directors as well as performing in the company’s production of “A Christmas Carol”. He has taken on many rolls over the years and is currently portraying Ebenezer Scrooge. A 1972 graduate of the Fiorello H. La Guardia School of Music and the Arts in New York City. Bob has been a newspaper publisher in the Hudson Valley for many years.

scarletCeleste Graves-Hoyal, joined SBC in 1992, and soon found her passion and gift for teaching the very young students, in the Mother Goose class, Pre-Ballet, and Advanced Pre-Ballet. Over the course of more than 15 years, she added the well loved FUNdamentals of Dance, and then FUNdamentals 2, both of which explored a variety of dance styles, creative choreography, and innovative music and costume choices.

scarletJustine Maletta, has danced with the Saugerties Ballet Center for over 15 years and is now a dance instructor with the school. She began performing with the Ulster Ballet Company in 1996 as a student and continues now as an adult performing many featured roles. In 2009, Justine worked at Walt Disney World as an entertainer. With UBC she has performed the roles of Martha Cratchit, The Spirit’s Light, Musician, Greed and most frequently The Ghost of Christmas Past. She can also be seen performing in the spring Festival of Dance.

julieJulie Manna, a former dance major at SUNY Purchase, also studied with many masters of the art of dance, including James Sutton for Tap, and Alexi Ramov for Ballet.  She was a member of many performing and traveling dance groups, most recently, In Forward Motion, of New Paltz, New York.  Julie has been a principal dancer with the Ulster Ballet Company since performing in the December 1999 production of "A Christmas Carol" as "Greed," the beautiful personification of earthly wealth.

scarletJudith Ore, joined SBC in 2000. Her early professional training included studies with the Ithaca Ballet Guild, and Cornell University. She has performed with several dance companies throughout New York and Connecticut, and has choreographed numerous ballets, receiving the Won Young Choreographer's award at the Northeast Regional Dance Festival in 1974. She has taught ballet to students of all ages and levels in Ithaca and Westchester County, New York, Stamford, Connecticut and most recently, Portland, Maine.

billBill Reinhart's stage experience began in student productions at the Central University of Iowa as an actor, director, and prop maker.  He co-founded a small theatrical troupe, The Midland Stage Expressing Company, for which he wrote a stage adaptation of "Little Red Riding Hood" as well as comedy skits.  Since 1992 he has studied with Scarlett Fiero and Sara Miot at the Saugerties Ballet Center and appears regularly in Ulster Ballet productions.  He has choreographed several short pieces to '60s rock music.

scarletMichael Evan Werner, has been dancing with the Ulster Ballet Company since 2004. He has performed many roles in their annual production of "A Christmas Carol", starting as the Street Vendor, Fezziwig Party guest, Fred's Party guest, and more recently being featured as Nephew Fred and Young Scrooge for the last several years. He has also danced in many pieces for UBC at their annual Festival of Dance. Michael has performed in many productions at the Center for Performing Arts at Rhinebeck and for Golden Stone Productions, as well as the VOICE Theatre. He received his Associate's degree in Theater from UCCC and has privately studied dance, voice and acting for many years. Presently, Michael is pursuing a professional acting career.
